Process Description
Final Effluent Treatment Plant:
The Final Treatment Plant consists of neutralization system, clarification system, aeration system for biological oxidation of organic matter, guard pond & pumping system.
Physio–Chemical Treatment:
Physio–Chemical Treatment is dedicated to correct the pH and removal of suspended particles. Lime slurry is added for neutralization. Suspended solid are removed by gravity settling in pre-primary & primary clarifiers using Poly electrolyte (Flocculent) & PAC / SAC (Coagulant). The primary sludge generated is taken to decanter to concentrate it up to 60% by weight. The system comprises of flash mixer, chemical dosing tanks, pre primary & primary clarifiers and pumps. Sludge generated is sent to secure land fill.
Biological Treatment:
The neutralized and clarified effluent is given biological treatment. In aeration system HRT of 2½ days is provided. The system comprises of aeration tanks, air diffusion system, secondary clarifier, sludge recirculation pump & blower houses. The biologically treated effluent is monitored for quality and is finally discharged deep into the sea. The sludge generated from biological system is concentrated in decanter The liquid effluent from decanter is channeled to aeration tank. The concentrated biological sludge is disposed to secured landfill.
Final collection & Disposal:
The final treated effluent is collected in sump from where it is discharged deep into the sea with the help of 44 km long onshore & 10 km long offshore pipe line through scientifically designed diffuser. At marine outfall point approximately 200 times dilution is available & dispersion rate is too high. A Guard pond with 24 hrs detention time is provided to hold effluent in case of emergency. Treated effluent is monitored with the help of on line pH meter, TOC analyzer & flow meter before being finally discharged. Composite sample analysis is made to ensure compliance to marine standard.
